Before opening a trip, you must have an active plan and a physical card or a virtual card linked to your phone.
- If you purchase a virtual card, you will be able to open a trip from your mobile device. Make sure you have Bluetooth and location activated so that the device can detect the station. Also make sure you have given the app permission to use Bluetooth (settings > applications > Ride On ES and allow Bluetooth).
- You will then need to walk up to the bike station with your phone, press the "Open ride" button and select one of the available bikes. The green light will change to flashing and you will hear a clear "click" when the mechanism disengages from the electric bike. You will have 10 seconds to remove the bike from the docking station.
- In the case of purchasing a physical card, you will simply have to bring the card close to the rectangle on the left side of the docking station. Once you have done this, the green light will change to flashing and you will hear a clear "click" when the mechanism disengages from the electric bike. You will have 10 seconds to remove the bike from the docking station.

In both cases, operating costs and trip charges will begin at the time the bike is removed from the docking station or at the time the bike is booked, although it is NOT necessary to book in order to use the bikes.
